Belated Launch of Blog - Better Late than Never

The shoemaker never has time to make shoes for his kids because his business is thriving, or at least that's how to spin a negative into a positive. At long last I am pausing briefly to launch a new website and blog.  It is overdue because I've been busy working for clients who needed new content for blogs and custom websites.

It's an ironic discovery to see an error message that your own website link has been broken and the content forever wiped away into the abyss of recycled code. This does tend to expedite the importance of finishing the other website that has been sitting for eighteen (18) months - on the back burner.  Spare time? Who has this and how can they give a little to the shoemakers of the world?

Thankfully, along the way of serving clients I've met people who specialize in various areas of technical design that torture my creative brain cells into a coma.  So, it is with great pleasure the blog and website now exist and are properly connected with high hopes of a wordslaying future.

Let the musings begin and journey include guest contributors, far away places, community festivals, client creations, the warmth of home, and a few unexpected adventures.

"DxO ONE Camera Cuts Social Sharing Time for Photography & Video"

Time is more than a measure of events when we as storytellers attempt to archive sequential moments through photography. It takes time to plan the album in advance.  Time spent making sure that we are standing in the exact spot to capture the sunrise before it shines, the hot air balloons as they glow under the stars, and the adrenaline smirks of a rock band when they walk off stage.

The real challenge of time is the delay between capturing and sharing those photographs.  My Nikon D3100 originates more than a thousand photos in 48 hours at the InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival. On-site coverage requires timely delivery which means I have to pause to download, edit, and post pictures to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google Plus.

Last September I read an article in The Wall Street Journal titled "DXO ONE Review:  Finally, an iPhone Camera Good Enough For a Pro."  I immediately thought of the hefty Nikon that becomes an extension of my hand during client events.…

A Pure Form of Storytelling Earns Best Social Media

Two and half years ago I was given direct advice to form a company.  The not so subtle guidance came from an Executive Director whom I admire personally and professionally.  I had spent more than a decade volunteering for various non-profit organizations in the community.  Serving others is a rewarding way to give back for a greater good.  It has always been a natural part of my adult life.
In fact, my personal Twitter account was @theleaguelady because I had been so incredibly involved with the Junior League of Collin County since 2007. Branding is a key element to a company and I didn't want to scrap my current accounts and have to start over.  I decided to build on who I was at that moment and filed The League Lady, LLC documents with the Texas Secretary of State.
Mark Twain once said, "The secret to getting ahead is getting started."  And so it began all at once. I quit my job with the American Heart Association working on the Go Red for Women campaign.  I enrolle…

CATCHING CLIENTS ON THE FLY - #TXFlyFishingFestival

Towards the end of 2016 we formed a wish list of upcoming events that are local, family-friendly, and of course, incredibly fun to experience.  Next, the introductions were sent via email to contacts with simple requests to merely start a conversation about their on-site coverage. Two weeks later, proposals have been sent, reviewed, and one approved by a new client!
The League Lady is thrilled to announce that we are honored to provide the digital marketing, advertising, and on-site coverage for the 1st Annual Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival.  Executive Director, Beau Beasley manages the Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival that is now celebrating 17 years and an iconic event within the industry. Texas has been on Beau's wish list for awhile and after vetting the metroplex he selected the Plano Centre as an ideal venue for the first year.
